Child Support worker roles available in West Lothian supporting the local authority, secure services and charities in a residential setting. Make a real difference to the lives of young people, supporting them to have a safe and fulfilled childhood!
These roles offer a competitive salary of £15 to £20 per hour PAYE plus sleepovers. You'll be working to your own rota based on your availability. With plenty of shifts available you can easily work 40 horus per week!

A successful child support worker will be responsible for:
- Working effectively as part of a team of child support workers
- Providing 24 hours care to a vulnerable young people
- Supporting service users with early trauma and emotional behavioural difficulties. This approach is centered on nurturing positive relationships using the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) and Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP).
- Taking service users out into the community and to school each day
- Ensuring professional boundaries are in place
- Maintaining professional manner and working to National Care Standards
- Working to a flexible schedule, including night shifts, weekends and bank holidays and Christmas period
To be successful in your application, you will:
- Have previous experience working in a residential setting with young people. Individuals with diverse skills and experiences from backgrounds such as residential care, early years, education, or healthcare are also welcomed.
- Have flexibility in the roles undertaken
- Have strong communication skills
- Register under the PVG scheme
- Full driving licence
- Obtained, or working towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, or equivalent desirable.
