Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead one of our teams within the 16+ Service, which forms part of Lambeth's combined Children Looked After (CLA) and Leaving Care service. This role offers the opportunity to lead a committed team supporting young people aged 16 to 25, helping them prepare for adulthood with stability and direction.
About the Service:
The Lambeth 16+ Service supports young people aged 16-25 who are in care or who have left care. Young people transition into this service after turning 16. The service consists of four teams made up of Social Workers and Personal Advisors, working together to ensure each young person receives the right level of support and care during this critical phase of their life.
The broader CLA service supports children from 0-16 years old with care plans that include long-term foster care and adoption. It consists of four teams including Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners, working towards permanency planning for children in care.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and Personal Advisors in the 16+ Leaving Care Service.
Provide regular supervision, guidance, and performance management to staff.
Ensure care leavers are supported in line with statutory requirements and best practices.
Monitor caseloads and ensure timely completion of assessments, plans, and reviews.
Promote independence and positive outcomes for young people transitioning to adulthood.
Ensure compliance with local policies, legislation, and safeguarding procedures.
Foster strong working relationships with external agencies, families, and partners.
Support continuous improvement and development of service delivery.
Requirements:
Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
Extensive experience in children's social care, specifically within Leaving Care or CLA services.
Previous experience in a leadership or team management role.
Strong understanding of legislation related to children in care and care leavers (Children Act, Leaving Care Act, etc.).
Excellent communication, supervision, and organizational skills.
