Job Summary:

Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to join the Adult Safeguarding MASH Front Door Service on a locum basis. This role is crucial in providing timely and effective safeguarding responses at the first point of contact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triage and assess referrals received through the MASH, applying the principles of the Care Act 2014.

• Carry out initial safeguarding assessments (Section 42 enquiries) and make threshold decisions.

• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external agencies to coordinate interventions.

• Identify risk, ensure adult safeguarding concerns are properly recorded and investigated, and escalate where necessary.

• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with statutory requirements.

• Work under pressure to meet tight deadlines while ensuring quality outcomes for adults at risk.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in Adult Safeguarding.

• Strong understanding of adult social care legislation and MASH/front door processes.

• Experience in working in high-demand environments and across multiple teams.

• Excellent risk assessment and decision-making skills.
