Middlesbrough Council is seeking an experienced and skilled Qualified Social Worker to join our dynamic Adults Team, specializing in safeguarding and care planning. This is a crucial role where you will play a vital part in protecting vulnerable adults and ensuring their well-being and independence.
Key Requirements:
You must be a qualified Social Worker with a relevant degree (e.g., BA Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
Registration with Social Work England is essential and must be up to date.
You must hold an enhanced and updated Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Undertake comprehensive assessments of vulnerable adults, including those with complex needs, to identify risks and determine appropriate support plans.
Lead on safeguarding inquiries, coordinating with various agencies to investigate concerns of abuse or neglect and ensure the safety of the individual.
Develop, implement, and review personalized care and support plans that promote the individual's independence, choice, and control.
Work collaboratively with adults, their families, carers, and other professionals to ensure their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Prepare and present reports for a range of statutory and legal processes, including Mental Capacity Act assessments and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) applications.
Provide advice and guidance to other professionals and members of the public on safeguarding procedures and best practices.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential records of all case work in line with council policies and statutory requirements.
Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, supervision, and training to ensure continuous professional development and high-quality practice.
Respond effectively to a range of complex and challenging situations, demonstrating resilience, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.
