Job Title: Social Worker - Safeguarding, Care Planning and Children with Disabilities Team
Location: Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough are seeking experienced and committed Social Workers to join our Safeguarding, Care Planning and Children with Disabilities (SCP) teams. These teams work with families where children are in need and children who need protection, supporting them to make changes to ensure that their children are safe and their needs are met. When these changes are not made and children are at risk of significant harm, we use the Public Law Outline (PLO) and if necessary, issue and work within Care proceedings.
Responsibilities -
Assessment and Care Planning: You will conduct comprehensive Child and Family Assessments to understand the unique needs of children with disabilities. Based on these assessments, you will develop and implement bespoke Care Plans that promote the child's well-being, development, and safety.
Safeguarding: You will be responsible for undertaking proactive and reactive safeguarding work, including managing child protection cases and conducting investigations when a child with disabilities is at risk of harm.
Multi-Agency Working: You will collaborate closely with a range of professionals, including health practitioners, special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs), therapists, and other agencies to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to a child's care.
Support for Families: You will provide direct support and guidance to families, helping them access services and resources, such as short breaks, equipment, and specialist therapies. You will also be a key point of contact for ongoing advice and advocacy.
Statutory Duties: You will be responsible for fulfilling all statutory social work duties, including writing reports for court and participating in statutory reviews, ensuring all records are accurate and compliant.
We are looking for passionate individuals with a minimum of 3 years' experience in social work.
