The Role: Full-Time Physics Teacher
This is a full-time position commencing in January. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessing Physics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This crucial role demands a specialist subject teacher capable of delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster a deep appreciation for the physical world and encourage students to pursue science at higher education levels. Requirements:
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination board specifications..
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Desirable Skills
- Expertise in teaching A-Level Physics.
- Experience with practical science risk assessments.
- Ability to incorporate STEM initiatives into lessons.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to build strong rapport with students and colleagues.
- Demonstrable success in improving student attainment in Physics.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated Physics lessons across all key stages.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Manage and maintain a safe, stimulating, and organised laboratory environment.
- Contribute to the development and evaluation of the Science curriculum.
- Attend and participate in departmental and whole-school meetings and training.
- Support and guide students through examination preparation, including A-Level.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
- Organise and lead extra-curricular science clubs or activities.
- Use data to inform teaching practices and target intervention strategies.
