Are you a pedagogical catalyst capable of transforming complex scientific theory into high-impact, practical learning?
Do you possess the technical precision to lead advanced laboratory investigations while maintaining an uncompromising standard of safety and engagement?
Are you seeking a role that priorities STEM excellence and allows you to utilise your specific expertise in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics?
We are seeking an intellectually driven and high-energy Qualified Science Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term position. This role is designed for a practitioner who views the laboratory as the heart of the school and is committed to fostering a culture of inquiry and evidence-based thinking. You will be responsible for delivering a rigorous curriculum that bridges the gap between foundational KS3 concepts and advanced KS4/KS5 examination specifications.
Your Responsibilities
- Curriculum Mastery: Plan and deliver high-impact lessons across the three sciences at KS3 and your specialist discipline at KS4 (AQA/Edexcel/OCR), ensuring deep conceptual understanding.
- Practical Leadership: Design and facilitate safe, engaging laboratory experiments, ensuring all practical work aligns with CLEAPSS guidelines and enhances student discovery.
- Examination Strategy: Lead GCSE and A-Level cohorts through complex specifications, utilizing data-driven interventions and precise feedback to maximise attainment.
- Analytical Inquiry: Foster a classroom environment where students are trained to form hypotheses, analyse data, and evaluate scientific evidence critically.
- Technical Collaboration: Work closely with the science technician team to ensure resources are managed efficiently and all equipment is utilised to its full educational potential.
- Pedagogical Innovation: Integrate modern technology and real-world scientific developments (from biotechnology to renewable energy) into the daily scheme of work.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / QTLS: Mandatory. A degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related STEM discipline.
- Technical Proficiency: A deep understanding of the scientific method and the ability to model accurate practical techniques with confidence.
- Classroom Command: Exceptional management skills that ensure a safe, focused, and intellectually stimulating environment during both theory and practical sessions.
- Adaptability: The resilience to differentiate complex topics for students of varying ability levels, ensuring high-attainers are stretched and support is scaffolded for all.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new one via Randstad).
