The Role: Secondary English Teacher
Are you a dynamic teacher who can bring both classic literature and contemporary media to life? Can you empower students to communicate clearly and think critically?
We are actively recruiting skilled Secondary English Teachers for our highly-regarded partner schools across the Stockport area. ECTs/NQTs are strongly encouraged to apply!
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and rigorous lessons in English Language and Literature for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (and potentially A-Level).
- Cultivate a creative and supportive classroom environment that encourages fluent reading, confident writing, and spirited discussion.
- Plan effective strategies to ensure all students, regardless of background, achieve high levels of literacy and analytical skill.
- Contribute positively to the wider English department, including resource development and extracurricular activities (e.g., debating, book club).
Are You the Right Fit? (Essential Criteria)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
- A relevant English degree or a closely related humanities qualification.
- Proven ability to deliver inspiring lessons and manage a positive classroom environment.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the UK Secondary Curriculum and exam board specifications.
- A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one through Randstad).
