Responsibilities- Classroom Supervision: Oversee classes across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (ages 11-18) during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused on the work set by the department.
- Behaviour Management: Effectively implement the school's conduct policy, maintaining a positive and orderly atmosphere.
- Support Learning: Respond to general student queries regarding pre-set materials, facilitating engagement without providing subject-specific instruction.
- Administrative Duties: Register student attendance and provide accurate, detailed feedback to the returning teacher regarding lesson progress and student behaviour.
- Professional Conduct: Act as a positive role model, upholding the school's values and high expectations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students.
- Proven behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead a classroom.
- Previous experience working with groups of young people (e.g., youth work, coaching, or school settings).
- A degree is considered an asset, particularly for those pursuing future teacher training.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a flexible approach to working across various subject areas.
- A firm commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
