Key Responsibilities
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in the classroom by:
Supporting Learning: Working 1:1 or with small groups of students to help them access the curriculum and overcome barriers to learning.
Inclusion & SEND: Assisting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring they are fully integrated into academy life.
Behaviour for Learning: Implementing the academy's positive behaviour policies to maintain a focused and nurturing classroom environment.
Teacher Collaboration: Assisting the Lead Teacher with resource preparation, progress tracking, and delivering targeted interventions in core subjects like Literacy and Numeracy.
Mentorship: Acting as a positive role model, fostering resilience, and encouraging students to take pride in their work.
What We Are Looking For
Education: A degree-level qualification or equivalent is preferred, though strong GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) are essential.
Experience: Previous experience working with young people (aged 11-18) in an educational, coaching, or youth-work setting.
Mindset: A patient, adaptable, and "can-do" attitude with a commitment to the safety and well-being of all students.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents alike.
