Pay Rate: £80-105 per day
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in a SEN setting in Leeds. This long-term position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs
- Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and use your initiative when necessary
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly
- Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions, helping students develop essential life skills
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their well being and self-esteem
- Collaborate with parents/carers, providing regular updates on student progress and discussing strategies for support at home
