Key Responsibilities:
As a key member of the pastoral and SEND team, your role will be instrumental in the students' success. Your responsibilities will include:
Confidently intervening in challenging situations and using effective de-escalation techniques to ensure pupil and staff safety.
Supporting pupils moving between lessons and year groups, minimising anxiety and potential triggers.
Providing tailored support in core subject areas, differentiating tasks to help pupils engage with the Key Stage 3/4 curriculum.
Running small-group interventions focused on managing anxiety, improving communication, and developing social skills.
Maintaining accurate, detailed records of incidents and progress to inform long-term support plans.
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you must possess:
Demonstrable experience working with adolescents (Key Stage 3/4) and managing challenging behaviour (SEMH/EBD).
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable, or strong, relevant experience is essential.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
Training in Team Teach, restraint reduction techniques, or trauma-informed practice is highly advantageous.
