We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School in King's Lynn. You will play a crucial role in supporting students who face emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them engage with learning and develop the confidence and skills to succeed.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Supporting students with SEMH needs in both 1:1 and group settings
Assisting the Teacher in delivering a personalised, trauma-informed curriculum
Building trusting relationships to promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Helping to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Promoting social and emotional development through consistent, compassionate support
Contributing to the preparation of classroom materials and maintaining a structured learning environment
Working closely with teachers, therapists and external professionals to support individual student progress

Being an active part of a supportive and caring staff team

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to support and behaviour management
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to remain composed under pressure
A genuine commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
Training in de-escalation or behaviour support (e.g., Team Teach or similar) is desirable, but not essential
