The Role
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, your role will be crucial in supporting pupils who may have experienced trauma, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, or other emotional challenges. You will:
- Provide consistent, positive support to pupils both in and out of the classroom
- Work 1:1 or with small groups to help manage behaviours, develop routines, and build emotional resilience
- Support the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated activities
- Foster a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel understood and respected
- Assist with personal care and practical tasks when necessary

Requirements
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN needs (preferred)
- A calm, compassionate, and non-judgemental attitude
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A commitment to building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- The ability to remain resilient, flexible, and solution-focused in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential
