Key Responsibilities
- Devise, prepare, and conduct stimulating, appropriately differentiated lessons that effectively cater to the unique objectives outlined in each student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Carry out continuous formal and informal assessments, analyse pupil progress data rigorously, and modify teaching approaches as necessary to maximise learning gains.
- Select, create, and adapt all teaching resources and classroom activities to ensure the entire curriculum is fully accessible to all learners.
- Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants, external professionals, and parents/carers to establish a robust, cohesive, and multi-disciplinary support system.
- Maintain a structured, highly motivating, and fully inclusive learning environment that promotes outstanding conduct and celebrates the achievements and efforts of every pupil.
Requirements for the Post
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This certification is essential and non-negotiable.
- Relevant UK Experience: Demonstrable, substantial experience teaching pupils with various Special Educational Needs within a UK school setting.
- Professional Expertise: A deep working knowledge of SEN codes of practice, diverse intervention strategies, and highly effective differentiation techniques.
- Personal Qualities: Candidates must be exceptionally resilient, patient, adaptable, and proactive, and possess outstanding classroom management skills.
- Safeguarding: A satisfactory, up-to-date Enhanced DBS check is required, or the applicant must be ready to apply immediately upon job offer.
- Major Advantage: Holding a specific SEN qualification or having considerable experience supporting students with profound and complex learning difficulties is a distinct plus.
