Salary: £130-£190 per day
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- Previous experience working with students with special educational needs in a secondary setting is highly desirable.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong understanding of SEN legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Resilience, patience, and empathy when working with students facing various challenges.
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs.
- Create individualised education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
- Collaborate effectively with other teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to provide a cohesive learning experience.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes inclusively, respect, and diversity.
- Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Implement behaviour management techniques and support students in developing social and emotional skills.
- Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and keep abreast of current SEN trends and methodologies.
