Role Overview: As a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in a secondary setting, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs as they navigate their teenage years. Your focus will be on helping students reach their full potential-academically and socially-by providing tailored assistance and guidance. This role is rewarding and impactful, offering the chance to empower young people to become independent and confident learners.

• Pay Rate: £90 - £100 per day

• Job Type: Full-time (Term time only)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist subject teachers in delivering accessible lessons across the secondary curriculum.

• Foster a positive, mature, and engaging learning environment.

• Provide one-to-one or small-group support to facilitate student progress.

• Monitor student development and report findings to the SENCO and parents.

• Support students during transitions between classes and during break times.

• Adhere strictly to the school's safeguarding and inclusion policies.

Desired Skills & Qualities:

• A true passion for supporting the development of young people.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with teenagers.

• A flexible, resilient, and adaptable mindset.

• Previous experience supporting individuals with special educational needs (ASD, ADHD, or SEMH).

• Reliable transport or easy access to Upminster is an advantage.

• Proven professional references and a clean record.

• Enhanced DBS check (we can assist with a new application if required) and eligibility to work in the UK.
