The Setting
Join a dedicated team within a unique environment that supports children and young people (aged 4-19) with complex neurological conditions, epilepsy, autism, and learning difficulties. Offering both day and residential placements, we provide a holistic approach to education and wellbeing, ensuring our students feel safe, understood, and empowered.
The Role
As a long-term SEN TA, you will be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team. Your day-to-day will involve:
Specialised Support: Assisting students with complex needs, ensuring their safety and engagement in learning activities.
Medical Awareness: Maintaining a calm and vigilant approach to supporting students with epilepsy and other neurological conditions.
Personalised Care: Implementing tailored strategies for autism and learning difficulties as outlined in EHCPs.
Transition Support: Helping students navigate the move between classroom learning and their residential environment.
What We Are Looking For
Resilience & Compassion: You have a natural ability to remain calm under pressure and provide a high standard of care.
Experience: Previous experience with complex needs, epilepsy, or ASD is highly desirable.
Commitment: As this is a long-term contract, we are looking for someone who wants to build lasting relationships with our young people.
Communication: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills (experience with Makaton or PECS is a bonus).
