If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and highly resilient SEN Teaching Assistant for a vital 1:1 role within a specialist setting in the leeds area, focused on supporting a pupil with complex challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
This is a specific 1:1 role requiring exceptional consistency. Your responsibilities will include:
Rigorously following and implementing a bespoke behaviour support plan (BSP) to manage complex needs and challenging behaviour.
Anticipating potential triggers and using de-escalation techniques before a crisis occurs, maintaining a calm presence.
Meticulously collecting and recording detailed behavioural data (ABC charts, frequency charts) to inform progress reviews and planning.
Providing consistent emotional support, acting as a trusted anchor for the pupil throughout the school day.
Facilitating structured work breaks and withdrawal sessions to help the pupil regulate and successfully re-engage with learning.
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you must possess:
Extensive, recent experience working 1:1 with children exhibiting severe challenging behaviour.
Team Teach or MAPA training certification is essential (or willingness to undertake training immediately).
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, but proven experience in managing complex behaviour is paramount.
