A specialist setting in the region Keighley is seeking a committed SEN Teacher to join their team from September. The role will initially run for one term, with strong potential to continue as either a temp-to-perm or permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Details:
Start date: September 2025
Duration: One term initially, with potential to extend or become permanent
Teaching focus: Year 9 students working at Year 7/8 level
Curriculum: Primary-style teaching of Maths, English, PSHE, and Humanities
Schedule: Full-time, standard school hours (8:30am-3:30pm
What You'll Do:
Deliver engaging, adaptive lessons across core and foundation subjects
Teach using a primary model approach within a small secondary SEN/SEMH group
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom that prioritises emotional regulation and trust
Use creative and restorative techniques to support behaviour and learning
Collaborate with LSAs, therapists and pastoral staff to support holistic development
Contribute to personalised planning in line with EHCPs and individual needs
Ideal Candidate:
QTS or QTLS essential
Proven experience working with SEN and/or SEMH learners
Confident teaching multiple subjects in a cross-curricular format
Calm, resilient, and nurturing classroom presence
Knowledge of trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices (desirable)
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
