SEN Teacher Vacancy - Join Our Specialist Team in Reading!
Are you a passionate and dedicated Teacher looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a full-time, permanent Teacher to join our expanding team in Tokers Green, Reading, starting in September 2025.
About Us
We are a recently established specialist school that opened in November 2024, providing tailored support to young people aged 6-16. Our students have diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder, moderate to severe learning needs, and associated difficulties, benefiting from our individualised and specialist approach.
Our team is deeply committed to providing the best possible outcomes for our students, preparing them for adult life. Our school ethos is built upon core values that promote the development of the whole child as an effective and engaged learner within a calm, caring, happy, and purposeful atmosphere. We believe in supporting each student to progress at their own level within a learning environment designed to help them achieve their full potential.
Our Values
We are looking for team members who embody our values. Our staff:
...Value all the children.
Display great patience and listen carefully to children.
Focus on and emphasise the positive.
Face reality and help pupils to come to terms with difficult issues as they arise.
Only disapprove of poor behaviour, never the child.
Try to make time for one another.
Are mutually supportive.
Speak quietly and avoid shouting.
Are valued by the governors and the community.
Have a good sense of humour.
Communicate with parents to ensure that they appreciate the school's values and to ensure that there is a common understanding.
We understand that for our students to thrive, their basic needs must be met. This includes feeling secure, being valued, having a balance of activities, developing relationships, building self-awareness, engaging in creative experiences, and being fully involved in their education.
