An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Qualified SEN Teacher to join our partner Special Educational Needs (SEN) School in Ipswich. We are searching for an inspirational teacher who can deliver creative, bespoke lessons to students with a variety of complex needs. This role is a chance to lead a classroom where your expertise will directly improve the quality of life and educational outcomes for your pupils. Please note: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality, differentiated lesson plans that cater specifically to the diverse learning profiles of students with SEN.
- Accurately assess and track pupil progress, ensuring that learning remains aligned with their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs.
- Lead a team of classroom support staff to ensure a unified and supportive approach to every child's development.
- Foster an inclusive, stimulating, and safe learning environment that encourages curiosity and builds student confidence.
- Maintain open and professional communication with parents, carers, and external healthcare professionals to support a holistic approach to education.
- Actively participate in the school's community through staff training, curriculum development, and school-wide events.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential for this position.
- Proven experience teaching children with a range of needs, such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), or SEMH.
- A deep understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and the ability to effectively implement and review EHCP objectives.
- Strong classroom leadership skills with a focus on positive behaviour management and student well-being.
- The ability to adapt your teaching style to meet the sensory and communication needs of your students.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
