SEN Teacher | Specialist Education (KS4)
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-Time
Are you a primary-trained educator with a passion for supporting students with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join our specialist independent school in Peterborough.
In this role, you will be working with students aged 14-16 (Key Stage 4). However, because our pupils engage with a bespoke, sensory, and developmental curriculum, Primary Teaching QTS is essential. You will be bridging the gap between chronological age and developmental stage, delivering creative and highly differentiated lessons that focus on life skills and functional learning.
The Role
Deliver a primary-model curriculum to small groups of secondary-aged pupils (14-16).
Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets.
Foster an inclusive atmosphere where every milestone, no matter how small, is celebrated.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Specifically with a Primary age-range focus.
SEN Experience: Prior experience working with complex needs, Autism, or SEMH is highly preferred.
Adaptability: The ability to pivot your teaching style to meet the unique emotional and cognitive needs of each pupil.
Resilience: A calm, patient approach and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
Why Join Us?
Competitive Salary: A generous range reflecting your expertise and the importance of the role.
Specialist Setting: Work within an environment designed specifically for SEN, with smaller class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios.
Professional Growth: Opportunity to deepen your expertise in specialist education within a supportive and collaborative team.
