Responsibilities
- Design and teach tailored lessons to support student's varied special educational needs.
- Support individual learning plans and implement effective strategies
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals (e.g., therapists, psychologists) to coordinate care and learning plans
- Support the social, emotional, and behavioural development of students
- Maintain accurate records related to student progress and SEN provision
- Promote and uphold safeguarding policies and procedures within the school setting
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Proven experience teaching SEN students in primary or secondary settings
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills
- Empathy and patience with a commitment to inclusive education
- Current Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
