Teacher (ICT and STEM)
Location: Stoke-On-Trent
Main Purpose of the Role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher to provide engaging, effective teaching and learning for our students. You will be a champion for the development of ICT and STEM across Key Stage 2 and 3, and will play a crucial role in integrating technology to enhance learning and prepare students for real-world applications. You'll also have the opportunity to teach other subjects to ensure the smooth running of the school. A key part of your role will be to ensure inclusive teaching practices for young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Planning: You will plan, resource, and deliver differentiated lessons to a small class, ensuring a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment. You will develop ICT and STEM curricula, create lesson plans, and develop hands-on materials that incorporate technology and software.
Student Support: You'll provide a safe, nurturing classroom environment that helps students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and ASC to develop as learners, building their confidence and self-esteem. You will also be responsible for monitoring student progress and setting targets through regular assessments.
Collaboration: You will collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver an engaging curriculum. You'll also work with other staff and professionals, building positive and trusted relationships.
School Community: You will actively support the school's vision, ethos, and policies and make a positive contribution to our strong school community. You are expected to behave and act in a way that promotes the overall aims, values, and ethos of the organisation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Qualifications: You must have a PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching qualification. We are looking for candidates with strong academic qualifications and experience in teaching ICT, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Maths.
Experience: You should have relevant knowledge and experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly in a special educational setting. Experience working within a multi-cultural, inclusive setting is also desired.
Skills: We are looking for someone with strong ICT skills, a passion for staying informed about technology, and the ability to share this with others. You should be positive, creative, and have high levels of emotional literacy. You must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
You must have an up-to-date Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
You will be expected to undertake PRICE training as directed.
You must be fit and well enough to undertake physical activities and training.
