Salary: £12.99 - £13.89 per hour (£23,210 - £24,818 actual salary dependent on qualifications) Plus a £1000 Welcome Bonus*
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant - SEN to join our team in Effingham, Surrey, starting in September 2025.
You'll be joining a supportive environment focused on providing exceptional education and care for autistic students aged 11-16, many of whom have associated behavioural and communication difficulties, and some with multiple learning difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a broad and creative curriculum and work within a committed multi-disciplinary team.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the class teacher and fostering a positive learning environment. Your key duties will include:
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils, adhering to school policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT.
- Providing meaningful feedback on pupil behaviour, relationships, and attitudes.
- Supporting positive behaviour and concentration levels, adapting your responses to any changes or escalations in behaviour.
- Establishing positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, enjoy learning, and achieve their full potential.
- Promoting and encouraging independence and personal development, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
- Implementing and adjusting learning activities as agreed with the teacher, reinforcing learning concepts.
- Supporting learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the teacher's direction.
- Implementing learning activities and experiences appropriate to the class group, supporting the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
Given the dynamic nature of SEN environments, your duties are likely to vary, so flexibility and a willingness to help wherever needed are essential.

This is a Term Time only position, working 40 hours per week.
