Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a diverse range of special educational needs, both within the classroom and during specialist interventions.
- Assisting teaching staff in the delivery of a highly engaging and personalised curriculum.
- Implementing IEPs and contributing to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress.
- Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation, fostering independence and self-confidence.
- Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to pupil development.
- Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and maintaining an organised classroom space.
- Supervising pupils during non-lesson times, including break times and lunch.
- Adhering to all school policies and procedures, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months UK experience working with SEN Complex students - ASD, PMLD and SLD.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are desirable.
- Can confidently and comfortably assist students with personal care needs.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with an understanding of various communication methods.
- Experience working with students aged 3 - 16.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners and fostering their progress.
- An enhanced children and adults DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
