£90 - £95 per day
King's Lynn
You've been in the classroom long enough to know that a "difficult" day is just a day where a student's needs aren't being met. Are you ready to bring your expertise to a school that truly values your skills?
We are seeking an experienced, high-caliber SEN Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful SEN School in King's Lynn. This role is designed for a practitioner who doesn't need "hand-holding"-someone who can walk into a high-pressure environment and immediately become a co-regulating force for students with complex Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and non-verbal communication profiles.
Your Expert Impact: Responsibilities
- Advanced 1:1 Intervention: Use your experience to deliver highly modified learning tasks that cater to the unique sensory and cognitive profiles of your students.
- Communication Specialist: Confidently lead sessions using Makaton, PECS, and high-tech AAC devices, acting as a mentor for less experienced staff members.
- De-escalation Mastery: Utilise your training (e.g., Team Teach) to identify early "rumblings" of distress, implementing proactive sensory diets and low-arousal strategies to maintain a safe environment.
- EHCP Data Lead: Take an active role in recording and analysing student data for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, providing deep insights into behavioural trends and milestones.
- Hydrotherapy & Sensory Circuits: Lead or assist in specialised physical and sensory sessions, ensuring students remain regulated and physically engaged.
- Team Synergy: Act as a right-hand to the Class Teacher, helping to coordinate the classroom team and ensure 1:1 support is consistent and effective.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Proven SEN Experience: A solid track record of working with complex needs (ASC, SLD, or PMLD) within a school or high-support care setting.
- Technical Proficiency: You are already comfortable with specialised communication tools and behavioural management frameworks.
- Resilient Leadership: The ability to remain a "calm anchor" during crisis moments, providing a model of professional poise for your colleagues.
- Commitment to Dignity: A deep understanding of how to provide personal care and physical support while maintaining the utmost respect for the student's autonomy.
- Compliance: An enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to process one urgently through Randstad).
