Key Responsibilities:
Your role will focus on practical, functional outcomes for older students. Your responsibilities will include:
Facilitating practical lessons related to life skills, independent travel, shopping, and work placements.
Supporting students to develop essential self-help, organisational, and communication skills necessary for post-school life.
Assisting the teacher in delivering a modified Key Stage 4/5 curriculum focused on functional literacy and numeracy.
Utilising proactive strategies suitable for older students with complex learning and behavioural profiles.
Contributing to student review meetings and collaborating with external agencies regarding future pathways.
Requirements:
To excel in this position, you must possess:
Extensive experience working with students aged 14+ with complex learning difficulties or Autism.
Proven experience in promoting independence and supporting vocational/functional skills training.
An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.
A Level 3 or higher qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant field (e.g., health and social care, youth work).
Strong motivational skills and an understanding of transitional anxieties in young adults.
