We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school based in Bassingbourn, Cambridgeshire, on a permanent, full-time basis.
This school supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism spectrum conditions, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities:
... - Provide tailored support to pupils, both one-to-one and in small groups
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging, accessible learning activities
- Foster positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage their independence and self-esteem
- Support pupils with personal care and mobility where necessary
- Help create a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
- Contribute to monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records
What We're Looking For:
- A patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children with additional needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Previous experience in an SEN setting is an advantage, but not essential - training will be provided
- A genuine desire to make a lasting impact in a child's life
