About the Role
Randstad Education is seeking compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistants to join a variety of mainstream and specialist SEND schools across Southend-on-Sea. As an LSA, you are more than just a classroom helper; you are the bridge between the curriculum and the student. You will work 1-to-1 or in small groups to empower students with additional needs ranging from Autism (ASD) to complex physical disabilities ensuring they have the tools and confidence to thrive in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver 1-to-1 Support: Tailor learning activities to meet the specific sensory and cognitive needs of individual students.
Assist with Specialist Communication: Use tools like PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices to give non-verbal students a voice.
Personal Care & Mobility: Provide dignified support with feeding, dressing, and mobility, potentially using hoists or standing frames (full training provided).
Sensory Integration: Facilitate learning through multi-sensory experiences, including sensory stories and tactile play.
Track Progress: Collaborate with Teachers and SENCOs to monitor breakthroughs and update Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Requirements
Character over Certificates: A patient, resilient, and "people-first" philosophy is essential.
Relevant Experience: Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or sports coaching are highly valued.
Core Skills: GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or equivalent) are generally required.
Adaptability: Comfort working in high-sensory or medically complex environments.
Compliance: An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) and two professional references.
