SENDCo looking for an exceptional opportunity to shape the provision in a brand-new specialist secondary school?
We are seeking a highly effective and dedicated SENCO to join a new SEND Secondary School in Merstham, Surrey, opening as part of a growth strategy by a respected educational organisation. This is a unique chance to be integral to the development and success of a school committed to supporting young neurodivergent people aged 11-16.
The school will cater for 100 young people across a main site in Merstham and a satellite provision in Caterham. As a key member of the leadership team, you will work closely with the Head of School in all aspects of leadership and management. Your pivotal role will involve taking responsibility for managing and developing learning and teaching, the curriculum, careers & work experience programmes, assessment strategies, and enrichment activities throughout designated phases of the school.
Our students will access a broad, exciting, and personalised curriculum aligned with national standards, designed to meet their individual needs, interests, and passions. With small class sizes, high levels of classroom support, and a supernumerary multi-disciplinary intervention team, we are dedicated to giving every student "every opportunity to achieve." Your expertise will be crucial in supporting students to develop essential social communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation skills, enabling them to overcome barriers to learning and community access. Our ultimate aim is to prepare students to become independent young people, capable of forming safe, meaningful relationships and empowered to pursue their aspirations in further education, training, or employment.
This position offers the chance to be part of a close network of established schools in Surrey, benefiting from strong school-to-school links that facilitate the sharing of best practice, resources, and joint events.
If you are a dynamic and inspiring SENDCo ready to contribute to a new and exciting educational project, we encourage you to apply.
To apply, please submit your application by 11pm on Monday 26th May 2025.
