Ignite Potential as Our Next SENCo!
Are you a passionate and inspiring leader ready to make a profound impact on the lives of young people with special educational needs? We're seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join our dedicated team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our school.
This isn't just a SENCo role; it's an opportunity to drive holistic development, working hand-in-hand with our Head of School to cultivate an engaging, high-quality learning environment where every student thrives.
What You'll Bring to Our School
As our SENCo, you'll be instrumental in developing and overseeing our Special Education Needs provision, ensuring every pupil reaches their full potential. Beyond this core responsibility, you'll be a key leader, contributing across various facets of school life:
Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Head of School on all aspects of leadership and management, playing a central role in developing our school in line with our shared values and strategic plans.
Curriculum & Assessment: Take charge of developing learning and teaching, curriculum design, assessment, and enrichment throughout designated phases.
Careers & Transitions: Lead successful identification and implementation of post-16 destinations, including coordinating transition plans and liaising with colleges. You'll also oversee high-quality Careers Education, Information, Advice, and Guidance.
SEN Expertise: Champion our SEN provision, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met for EHCPs, coordinating resources, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders. You'll advise the Head of School on strategic SEN policy development and lead our school's therapy offer.
Team Development: Lead by example, offering positive encouragement, coaching, and mentoring to support the training and development of our staff. You'll promote best practice and contribute to inset and CPD for new teachers.
Operational Excellence: Play a key role in the smooth running of the school, including managing CPD, assisting with recruitment, hosting school events, and ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Be responsible for collating evidence for school self-evaluation, reporting on learning and progress to governance, and ensuring effective use of assessment data to track pupil progress.
Safeguarding: Carry out essential safeguarding duties as required.
