Your Role as SENCO:
You will be the cornerstone of our SEND provision, ensuring every student with an EHCP receives unparalleled support for their academic progress and overall wellbeing. Your core responsibilities will include:
... - Leading the strategic development and operational oversight of our SEND provision, ensuring full compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
- Coordinating and chairing all Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews, always prioritising person-centred planning.
- Building and maintaining strong liaisons with parents/carers, external agencies (e.g., EPs, SALT, CAMHS), and other professionals.
- Effectively managing and developing our dedicated team of Learning Support Workers and Teaching Assistants, promoting best practices across the board.
- Providing expert guidance and professional development to staff on inclusive teaching, differentiation, and trauma-informed practices.
- Maintaining accurate SEN records and expertly using data to inform provision and drive continuous school improvement.
- Championing the school's vision of nurturing independent learners prepared for successful adult life.
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- The National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or a firm commitment to achieving it within three years.
- A deep and current understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and leading best practices for supporting students.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through a collaborative and empathetic approach.
- A genuine passion for fostering student wellbeing, resilience, and independence.
