About the Role
As SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our inclusive learning environment, ensuring every student with special educational needs receives the support and opportunities they need to flourish. You will lead and manage the provision for SEND students, working collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies to champion their academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school.
Identifying and assessing students with special educational needs.
Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
Providing guidance and support to teaching staff on SEND best practices.
Liaising with parents/carers to ensure effective communication and partnership.
Coordinating with external professionals and agencies.
Managing and deploying a team of teaching assistants.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date SEND records.
What We're Looking For
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Proven experience as a SENCO or in a significant SEND leadership role.
A comprehensive understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
The ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
