Randstad are recruiting for a Senior Highways Design Engineer to join a reupatable highways contractor based in Central London (Zone 1) where the delivery and design team are co-located. The role will be varied and all-encompassing and will include a mix of hands-on highways design work and technical support to other members of the in-house design team. Candidates must have good, detailed design experience with a solid background on highway design projects.

Role Summary:
- The delivery of multidisciplinary projects, balancing demands and priorities, whilst reviewing highways infrastructure design, from project proposition through to construction.
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, specification, and schedules.
- Providing construction support to construction team.
- Supervising and overseeing the work of engineers and graduates
Key Requirements:
- Relevant 1st Degree or HND/HNC (preferably in engineering) or equivalent qualifications
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with a relevant professional institution such as ICE or CIHT (or equivalent) or suitable relevant experience - HIGHLY DESIRABLE
- In-depth understanding of highways and traffic engineering techniques and principles and a proven track record in highways design and/or delivery
- Strong CAD/Civil 3D skills
- Strong Pavement design experience
- Good drainage design experience
- Use of Keylines & Key signs software's
- Ability to use Microsoft projects
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise your workload effectively
- Capability to work autonomously as well as collaborating within a team environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical / industry standards
- Working knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, Traffic Signs Manual and TfL Streets toolkit.
- Experience and ability working on or managing multi-task projects.
- Minimum 7 years' experience in a highway design role
