The Role
North Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager to join our Children's Management Team. This is a high-impact leadership position designed for a social care professional who excels in strategic oversight, performance management, and driving service excellence.
As a key member of the management hierarchy, you will be responsible for overseeing complex service areas, ensuring that statutory duties are met with the highest level of proficiency and that children in North Tyneside receive safe, effective, and timely intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight: Lead and manage a cluster of teams (e.g., Assessment, CP, or LAC) to ensure service delivery aligns with council priorities and national standards.
Performance & Data: Utilize management information to monitor performance, identify trends, and implement robust improvement plans.
Workforce Development: Provide high-level supervision to Team Managers, fostering a culture of reflective practice and professional growth.
Budgetary Accountability: Manage delegated budgets effectively, ensuring resources are utilized to provide maximum value and impact for children and families.
Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the council in multi-agency forums and strategic boards to ensure integrated service delivery.
Requirements
Extensive Experience: Significant experience at a Team Manager or Service Manager level within Children's Social Care.
Leadership Credentials: Proven track record of managing high-performing teams and navigating complex safeguarding environments.
Registration: Valid Social Work England (SWE) registration and a relevant Social Work qualification.
Communication: Exceptional ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex information clearly to both frontline staff and executive leadership.
