Are you a highly skilled Social Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is looking for an experienced and resilient Senior Practitioner to join our dedicated Child Protection team.

Your Role
Advanced Casework: Manage a complex caseload of child protection cases, ensuring the highest standards of safety and intervention.
Mentorship: Act as a practice lead, supporting and guiding less experienced Social Workers and ASYE students.
Quality Assurance: Lead by example in assessments, court reports, and child protection planning, ensuring all work is evidence-based and child-centric.
Decision Making: Support the Team Manager in high-level decision-making and representing the authority in multi-agency forums.
Requirements
Professional Qualification: Degree in Social Work and active Social Work England registration.
Proven Experience: Extensive experience working within a statutory Child Protection or Court team.
Leadership Skills: Ability to model best practices and provide informal supervision to colleagues.
Communication: Exceptional report writing and verbal communication skills for court proceedings and family conferences.
