Senior Practitioner - Complex Safeguarding (Children's Services)

We have a fantastic Locum Senior Practitioner opportunity within Tameside's Complex Safeguarding Team, supporting children and families affected by child criminal exploitation (CCE), child sexual exploitation (CSE), and other forms of serious harm.

Responsibilities:
- Provide practice leadership and support to social workers and multi-agency colleagues across Children's Services.
- Undertake and quality-assure complex exploitation assessments, risk management and safety planning.
- Deliver and oversee direct work with young people and families around issues such as violence, offending, peer influence, substance misuse, ACEs and trauma.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including police, health, education and youth justice to reduce risk and disrupt exploitation networks.
- Offer consultation, guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff to strengthen safeguarding practice across the service.
- Contribute to strategy meetings, case mapping, and training delivery related to complex safeguarding.
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Minimum 3+ years' post-qualifying experience in statutory children's services, ideally within Complex Safeguarding / CSE / CCE / Edge of Care / Youth Justice.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.
- Confident in multi-agency partnership working, risk management and professional decision-making.
- A reflective practitioner who can lead by example, influence others and promote best practice.
