Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday
Contract: Permanent (either term-time only, or all year around)
Salary: £31,326 per annum all year around, £26,570 per annum term-time only

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Tutor to join a team near Cambridge. This is a chance to join a values-driven organisation that provides educational activities and support for adults with autism and learning disabilities. In this key role, you will lead a specialist group, mentor staff, and ensure every learner receives a high-quality, personalised education that focuses on independence and life skills.
The Opportunity: What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and Tutoring: You will lead a complex needs group, providing personalised, structured teaching sessions that are aligned with each learner's individual goals and Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Team Leadership: Take ownership of the complex needs group and act as the resident expert. You will line manage and mentor support staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Personalised Planning: Plan and implement individual learning plans that reflect EHCPs and focus on the four Preparing for Adulthood pathways: social, vocational, independent living, and health.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Aspirations Manager, other professionals, and learners' families to ensure a holistic approach to development.
- Administrative and Care Responsibilities: Complete progress reports, oversee AQA Unit Award Certificates, and, when needed, assist with personal care in a dignified and respectful manner.
The Ideal Candidate: Who We're Looking For
- Knowledge: You have a strong understanding of autism, complex needs, and structured and sensory-based teaching approaches. You are also knowledgeable about EHCPs and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience: You have experience working with autistic individuals and people with learning disabilities, including those who may display challenging behaviours. Experience in a SEND tutoring or teaching role and in leading support staff is essential.
- Skills: You are an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. You can mentor others, plan and prioritise effectively, and have good IT and record-keeping skills.
