Experienced Site Engineer Required - New Build Project, Norwich
Job Type: Temporary Contract Location: Norwich Day Rate: £300 - £350 per day (dependent on experience and whether own surveying equipment is provided) Duration: Approximately 9 weeks (potential for extension) Start Date: ASAP
Role & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for all typical site engineering duties on a new build/civil engineering project, including but not limited to:
- Setting out, levelling, and surveying the site in accordance with project drawings.
- Overseeing groundworks, drainage, foundations, and external works.
- Ensuring all work is carried out to the required quality standards and specifications.
- Maintaining accurate site records, including daily diaries and as-built information.
- Liaising with the site management team, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Resolving any technical queries or issues that may arise on site.
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Quality control and assurance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on new build or commercial civil engineering projects.
- Proficient in setting out and using surveying equipment.
- Preference will be given to candidates with their own surveying equipment; however, this is not an absolute requirement, and the day rate will reflect whether equipment is provided.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, health & safety, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid CSCS card is essential.
- Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, Degree in Civil Engineering or similar).
This is an immediate requirement with the potential for the contract to be extended based on performance and upcoming projects.
