Senior Practitioner (Community Team) - Herefordshire Council £38 per hour
Herefordshire Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join its Adults' Community Team. This is a significant opportunity for a social work professional to take on a leadership role, guiding and supporting a team of practitioners while managing a complex caseload themselves. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting a strengths-based, person-centred approach to adult social care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services that empower individuals to live as independently as possible within their communities. This role is perfect for a social worker with a proven track record of excellent practice, a passion for mentoring and a comprehensive understanding of relevant adult social care legislation and policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide professional supervision, advice, and guidance to social workers and other staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and best practice.
Manage a small but complex caseload, undertaking advanced assessments and interventions for individuals with diverse and intricate needs.
Lead on quality assurance, conducting audits and reviews to ensure the team's practice is compliant with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and other relevant legislation.
Act as a a subject matter expert within the team, providing consultation and support on complex cases, risk management, and safeguarding enquiries.
Contribute to the strategic development of the service, identifying areas for improvement and helping to implement new policies and procedures.
Deputise for the Team Manager as required, assisting with the allocation and management of the team's workload.
