Key Focus: Case management and oversight for children and young people in the care of the local authority.
The role requires an experienced professional who is confident in managing a diverse caseload, undertaking high-quality assessments, and is proficient in court work. The ideal candidate will be adept at building trusting relationships with children and young people to help them achieve the best possible outcomes, whether that's returning to their family or securing a long-term permanent placement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Managing a diverse caseload of children in care, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
Conducting clear, accurate, and timely assessments, including Care Plans and Pathway Plans.
Attending and preparing for court proceedings, including writing detailed and analytical reports.
Building and maintaining positive, strength-based relationships with children, young people, their families, and carers.
Collaborating with multi-agency partners, including schools, health professionals, and the police, to ensure a coordinated approach.
Contributing to permanence planning, including working towards a child's return home, Special Guardianship, or adoption.
Keeping accurate and up-to-date records on the case management system.
Engaging in continuous professional development and reflective practice with supportive management.
