Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join East Lothian Council's Community team. This is a full time role offering a fantastic competitive pay rate.

Responsibilities:
- Adult Support and Protection (ASP).
- Adults with Incapacity (AWI).
- Mental Health Acts.
- Section 23 Assessments.
- Self-Directed Support (SDS).
- Direct Payments.
- Assessing the needs of unpaid family carers to prevent burnout and ensure they have a "Carer Support Plan."
- Going into hospitals to assess patients before they are discharged to ensure their home is safe.
- Responding to crises within hours to prevent an unnecessary hospital admission.
- Working with the "Community First" team and occupational therapists to help people regain skills after an illness.
- Managing a varied list of clients, which often includes those with dementia, physical disabilities, autism, or substance misuse issues.
- Participating in a rota (often based at John Muir House or a local hub) to handle new referrals and emergencies that come in during the day.
- Negotiating care costs with private providers and ensuring the Council's "Eligibility Criteria" are met before funding is approved.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration.
Requirements:
- PVG
- SSSC registration
- Social Work Degree
