Permanent Social Worker - Fostering Team
Employer: Middlesbrough Council
Location: Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire
Salary: £45,416 per annum (including a 15% market supplement)
Relocation Package: £8,000
The Role
As a social worker in the Fostering Team, you will manage a varied caseload, playing a crucial role in the fostering journey from assessment to placement support. Your key responsibilities will include:
Recruitment and Assessment: Working with prospective foster carers to guide them through the assessment process, including undertaking Form F assessments and presenting recommendations to the Fostering Panel.
Supervision and Support: Providing regular supervision and support to approved foster carers to ensure they are equipped to meet the needs of children in their care.
Training: Identifying the training needs of foster carers and helping to facilitate their professional development.
Liaison: Acting as a link between foster carers and a child's social worker, as well as other professionals, to ensure seamless communication and a collaborative approach.
Maintaining Records: Ensuring all case records, documentation, and reports are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Safeguarding: Remaining vigilant to safeguarding concerns and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
