We are seeking an experienced Locum Social Worker to join the Mental Health & Substance Misuse Team in Southwark. This is a rewarding role supporting adults with complex needs, including co-occurring mental health issues and substance misuse, helping them achieve recovery and stability.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake assessments, care planning, and risk management for adults with dual diagnosis
Provide person-centred interventions to support recovery and reduce harm
Collaborate with multi-agency partners including health services, drug & alcohol services, housing, and voluntary organisations
Participate in safeguarding investigations and mental health assessments
Offer advocacy and support to service users and their families/carers
Maintain accurate, high-quality case records in line with statutory requirements
Requirements:
Social Work England registration
Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification
Experience working in adult mental health and/or substance misuse services
Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures
Excellent communication, assessment, and multi-agency working skills
Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively under pressure
