Randstad are recruiting for a Qualified Social Worker to join West Dunbartonshire Council in their 0-12 Children and Families Service doing Child Protection. This is a full time role offering a fantastic competitive pay rate.

Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Intake.
- Managing new referrals from the public, police, or health professionals to determine if a child is at immediate risk.
- Conducting home visits and interviews to observe family dynamics and evaluate the child's physical, emotional, and sexual safety.
- Using the National Risk Assessment Toolkit to identify specific risk factors such as domestic abuse, parental substance misuse, or chronic neglect.
- Child Protection Investigations.
- Working with parents and extended family networks to create immediate plans that reduce risk and allow the child to remain safely at home whenever possible.
- Coordinating with Health Visitors, School Nurses, and Education staff to monitor the child's welfare across all environments.
- Facilitating regular meetings with the family and other professionals to track progress against the Child Protection Plan.
- Preparing detailed reports for the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration (SCRA) and attending Hearings to advocate for the child's best interests.
- Providing written and oral evidence in court proceedings, including applications for Child Protection Orders (CPOs) if a child needs to be removed from a home in an emergency.
- For children who cannot live with their birth parents, the team identifies and supports kinship care (family/friends) or foster care placements.
Requirements:
- Social Work Degree
- SSSC registration
- PVG
