Job title: Solution Architect
Duration: 6 months
Daily rate: £700-£750 via an umbrella company
Location: London (2 days onsite)
We're seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect/Technical Consultant to join our Technology Delivery Team on a 6-month contract with the potential for extension. This role is a key part of the Design Team, reporting directly to the Head of Design.
Responsibilities:
As a key member of the design team, you will be responsible for architecting and designing solutions in accordance with approved design standards. You'll work closely with Product, Change, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
Your main duties will include:
- You will be responsible for creating and maintaining design documents, ensuring they meet the requirements of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the business.
- You'll also provide technical assurance for IT deliverables from third-party vendors, ensuring they conform to enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and both functional and non-functional requirements.
- A core part of this role is the ability to lead analyses of technology and associated operational processes.
- You will be tasked with recommending high-level and low-level infrastructure designs and strategies that will improve service, reduce costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
- You'll partner with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders to understand and solve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential to deliver ideas clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all seniority levels.
- You'll ensure technical specifications meet business requirements through stakeholder facilitation, document review, and management of internal and supplier resources.
Required Knowledge & Experience
We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in designing applications and integrating core infrastructure across a large-scale enterprise environment.
Key skills and experience include:
- Extensive experience with designing solutions involving end-user technologies, infrastructure (servers, storage, networking), security technologies (encryption, firewalls), and software.
- You must have a strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Architectures and have completed relevant training and certifications in Azure.
- Working knowledge of Cisco switches, firewalls, and networks is also essential.
- You should have a deep understanding of how to integrate firewalls, core infrastructure, and external systems.
- Familiarity with different integration patterns and the ability to choose the best one for a given scenario is required.
- You must possess a deep technical understanding of infrastructure and supporting Microsoft technologies. The ability to clearly articulate features and benefits to senior management in a "non-techy" way is crucial.
The role involves working with internal stakeholders such as Project Management and Technical Teams, as well as external vendors and service providers. You will be a self-motivated individual with a significant interest in new and emerging technologies
