Roles and Responsibilities:
- Individualized Education Planning: You will assess students' needs and develop, implement, and review individualized education plans (IEPs) that set specific, achievable goals for each student. This involves a deep understanding of various learning challenges and a creative approach to curriculum adaptation.
- Differentiated Instruction: You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities within your classroom. This includes using specialist resources and assistive technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Collaboration and Communication: You will work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic support system for students. Regular and open communication with parents and guardians is also a key part of this role, ensuring a consistent and supportive environment both at school and at home.
- Student Well-being and Development: You will be a champion for your students, fostering their self-confidence, independence, and social skills. You will manage classroom behavior with patience and empathy, creating a safe and positive space where students feel understood and empowered.

- Knowledge of SEN Methodologies and Practices: You should have a strong understanding of current special education best practices, including experience with creating and implementing IEPs. A relevant Teaching qualification (QTS) and experience with a range of SEN are essential.
