Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and differentiated lesson plans tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Deliver engaging and creative lessons that break down barriers to learning and make education accessible and exciting for all.
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress meticulously, using data to inform future teaching strategies and interventions.
- Manage classroom behavior with a patient and consistent approach, fostering a calm, safe, and productive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure a unified approach to student support.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates on progress and working together to support students both at school and at home.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to provide a comprehensive support system for students.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resilient teacher who is dedicated to the field of special education.
- A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. A specific qualification in special education (e.g., a postgraduate certificate or diploma) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with students with a range of SEN, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities.
- A deep understanding of various teaching strategies and resources for special education.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire students and effectively collaborate with staff and parents.
- The ability to be highly organized and skilled at managing a diverse and demanding workload.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive outlook to motivate and encourage students through their learning journey.
